Top 10 of works submitted to the “Waterpieces” competition

Out of 52 works submitted for the competition to the find the best audio-visual art work in the Baltics, the following works have been shortlisted:


Marija Linciute’s  (LT) work “CCCP”

Marta Ivanova’s (LT) work “Neckties”

Anastasija Pirozenko’s (LT) works “God’s Eaters” and “Temporarily”

Ieva Balode’s (LV) works “Cilpa” and “… and to the dust we shall return”

Olga Teleša’s (LV) work “Schieles Dream”

Katrīna Neiburga’s (LV) work “Preses Nams”

Marija Molyte (LT) work “National News”


Marko Maetamm’s (EST) work “Blue Stories”


These ten works will be presented during the showcase presentation of competition works at 21:00 on the opening evening of the festival, 16 August at the floating arts centre “NOASS and Betanovuss” at which time the winner of the grand prix will be announced.


The works were assessed by a professional international jury: Mārtiņš Ratniks – artist, Art Academy of Latvia lecturer [LV];

Irma Stanaityte – artist, Vilnius Art Academy video lecturer [LT]; Raivo Kelomees – artist, art critic, Tallinn Art Academy new media lecturer [EST]


The “Waterpieces” would like to thank all artists who have created and submitted their audio –visual art works for the festival competition. In assessing the professional and artistic quality of the art works, the jury didn’t have an easy choice. We invite you to continue to create and showcase new video art works, as well as to apply for next year’s “Waterpieces” competition.

Supporting the development of contemporary art and the creation of new art works,   “ABLV Charitable Foundation” will award an LVL 500 cash prize to the best “Waterpieces” audio-visual art work.
